Fall has come to Stony Point, Maine. The summer visitors have left. Annie Dawson, a Texas visitor who is staying at Grey Gables, the stately victorian she inherited from her late grandmother, even considers returning to Texas. But when she finds a bundle of letters from a childhood friend from one summer at Grey Gables, she feels a rush of nostalgia for those golden days she spent in Stony Point as a child. At the urging of her grandmother she had befriended Susan Morris, the lonely, pretty girl who lived on the outskirts of town. They played at the beach and spent many hours together with Gram at Grey Gables. Their letters had sustained their friendship through the winter months when Annie had to return home to Texas. It was these letters that Annie had saved and brought back to Grey Gables to share with Susan her last summer in Stony Point. But where is Susan now? It would seem to be a simple task to track her down, or at least find out what happened to her. But mysteries uncovered in the attic of Grey Gables are never simple. When Annie queries her friends in the Hook and Needle Club, a local stitchery group sponsored by the yarn shop, A Stitch in Time, she receives conflicting stories. Is she married? Did she move to Florida? Or to California? She’s certainly not in Stony Point. Disturbing information draws Annie deeper and deeper into Susan’s story, a frightening game of hide and seek with strangers who threaten Annie’s life and endanger the lives of her friends. Follow Annie’s adventure in her quest for the truth about her friend. You’ll have some heart-stopping encounters along the way and be inspired by the ties of true friendship that bind us together.

His father will stop at nothing to keep the royal bloodline "pure" --even murder. But his sins have nearly destroyed Prince Philip and the future of his reign. Forced into a political marriage, Philip tells his bride, "I will not lie to you, I will not be unfaithful to you, and I will not love you. My heart is pledged to another and I am not a man to break an oath." His one true love is a lowly serving girl. When Philip refuses to set her aside in order to form a politically beneficial marriage, his father has the girl tried on false charges and executed. He then forces Philip to marry the beautiful and nobly born Lady Rosalynde. Devastated and embittered by his loss and his father's betrayal, Philip is determined to never love again . . . not his father, not his wife, not his God. Although Rosalynde adores him, he withholds his heart from her, refusing to let even death end his devotion to the love he lost. Despite his coldness towards her, Rosalynde is determined to love him and teach him to love her -- as determined as the God he has turned his back on. As civil war rages throughout the realm, Philip faces a greater struggle within himself. Will he open his heart to love again or let his pride destroy him and his kingdom? A Stitch in Time, the home of the Hook and Needle Club, is in trouble! It is threatened by “progress” in the form of a fast-food restaurant planned for the middle of Stony Point’s quaint downtown landscape. Annie Dawson and her troupe of needle-crafters are running out of ideas to help the shop’s owner, Mary Beth Brock, fend off the wolf at the door. Her only hope to stay open is to buy the building within a month—a solution that will, indeed, take a miracle. Mary Beth has sold an exquisite mid-19th century desk passed down from her great-great-grandmother to stave off what increasingly looks like the inevitable. But even the sale of everything she owns wouldn’t pay the asking price for the building where her beloved shop resides. Mary Beth’s problems seem to have a solution when Annie finds a key in a broken vase in the attic of Grey Gables, the Victorian home she inherited from her grandmother, Betsy Holden. The key is linked to an antique table and a beautiful mantel clock also owned by Mary Beth. Annie finds clues that send her and her Hook and Needle Club friends on an adventure that takes them back to the Civil War and an ill-fated love between Mary Beth’s great-great-grandmother and a young soldier. When the owner of an antique store shows up with an insistent desire to purchase Mary Beth’s other heirlooms—and when her home is then burgled—Annie and her best friend, Alice MacFarlane, begin to suspect that their mystery may be tied into more than a coded love letter from the 1860s. Join Annie and the Hook and Needle Club gang as they once again find themselves immersed in a mystery that begins in the attic of Grey Gables. Will it conclude with the closing of A Stitch in Time?
