This anthology contains about one hundred stories and anecdotes in English recreated out of the greatest works of Persian literature. The present stories are miniatures of the original ones in many aspects, serving the same purpose of delighting and instructing the readers. They are really reader-friendly both in terms of the time needed to be read and the level of language mastery required.Persian literature is the reflection of a glorious culture and civilization adorned with gems of wisdom, art and imagination of Persians over many centuries. It is one of the world's oldest literatures. spanning about two-and-a-half millennia, Persian literature has its roots in surviving works of Old and Middle Persian dating back as far as 522 BCE, the date of the earliest surviving Achaemenid inscription, the Bisotun Inscription. Its sources have been within historical Persia including present-day Iran as well as regions of Central Asia where the Persian language has historically been the national language. Persian literature has significantly influenced the literatures of Ottoman Turkey, Muslim India and Turkic Central Asia and has been a source of inspiration for Goethe, Emerson, Matthew Arnold and Jorge Luis Borges among so many others. This anthology contains about one hundred stories and anecdotes in English recreated out of the greatest works of Persian literature such as Masnavi (rhyming couplets) by Rumi (also Mawlana), Gulistan (the rose garden), by Sa'di, and Shahnameh (the book of kings) by Ferdowsi. The present stories are miniatures of the original ones in many aspects, serving the same purpose of delighting and instructing the readers. They are really reader-friendly both in terms of the time needed to be read and the level of language mastery required. This hopefully makes this collection readable for even those many people nowadays who can devote only little time to reading literature or have little mastery over English as an international language.

This convergence grows beyond his ability to understand after aliens visit him and coerce him to visit their planet, along with his cat Jerry. It is a mystery to Professor Beck that of the 6 billion people on Earth they chose him. Once he arrives on Zoropeterius this mystery is not as it appeared on Earth. One alien proclaims, “In constant momentum, nothing is itself,” so it is on Zoropeterius, where being, language, time, and matter are all in flux and nothing matters unless it does, except death. Death always matters, this Earth and Zoropeterius share, if nothing else. The short story “The Word, Matter” is a tour de force of imagination. A speculative fantasy incorporating elements of science fiction and themes derived from modern philosophy. Abstract and built upon bold ideas, the story may cause one to wonder if our assumptions of the physical world, and the aliens in it, always hold true. “The Word, Matter” is the fifth story in “The Extraterrestrial Anthology, Volume I: Temblar.” The anthology contains ten short stories about Aliens.

Genres include sports fiction, paranormal, fantasy, and young adult romance.Young writers in middle school through high school from Michigan's EUP (Eastern Upper Peninsula) have contributed short stories and poetry to the most recent Pickford Community Library's Young Writers Workshop Anthology. They have attended biweekly writing lessons at the library from October 2015 through May 2016, the culmination of which is publication of their creative talents in this year's anthology. The Young Writers Workshop, now having completed its fourth year, is a result of a teen's request in 2012 for a writing program at the local community library. Two members of JLB Creatives Publishing, both authors themselves, one from Brimley, Michigan, and one from Astatula, Florida, agreed to form the group and enlighten the aspiring writers by using electronic conferencing to teach the sessions. The EUP writing enthusiasts learn everything from concept to publication and beyond; they go from basic sentence structure to the ins and outs of becoming published authors, including such topics as interpreting publishing contracts, creating book trailers, and handling rejection slips from publishers. Please take a look at what can be accomplished by young people who have a strong desire to share the stories in their heads with readers like you.

Star-studded and comprehensive, this imaginative anthology brings a myriad of modern fantasy voices under one roof. Previously difficult for readers to discover in its new modes, urban fantasy is represented here in all three of its distinct styles—playful new mythologies, sexy paranormal romances, and gritty urban noir. Whether they feature tattooed demon-hunters, angst-ridden vampires, supernatural gumshoes, or pixelated pixies, these authors—including Patricia Briggs, Neil Gaiman, and Charles de Lint—mash-up traditional fare with pop culture, creating iconic characters, conflicted moralities, and complex settings. Passion comes in many guises, many colours. This collection of work will tantalise the taste buds, stir the emotions and provoke a reaction! What colour is your passion?John Beach's fifth collection of poetry. The 35 terzanelle poems in this collection are about identity: both the secret identity and the public persona. I have chosen 26 characters from classic literature, theater, the Pulps, comic books, and radio programs, each of whom uses a hidden identity (or identities) for heroic and less-than-heroic purposes. The real question is why they do so, why any of us do.The terzanelle is a French/Italian adaptation of the terza rima to the villanelle form. Each terzanelle is meant to be 19 lines long (ten syllables each), composed of five triplets with a concluding quatrain, and are written in iambic pentamater. I don't pay much attention to where my metrical feet are stepping, but I enjoy the puzzle-like nature of this form and the subtlety of the repeating lines, the variations in meaning. I also enjoy breaking the lines and changing punctuation.

This is the fourth annual edition of the Long List Anthology. Every year, supporting members of WorldCon nominate their favorite stories first published during the previous year to determine the top five in each category for the final Hugo Award ballot. This is an anthology collecting more of the stories from that nomination list to get them to more readers. The Long List Anthology Volume 4 collects 15 science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories from that nomination list, totaling over 300 pages of fiction by writers from all corners of the world. From utopian science fiction to dystopian horror, from a society based entirely on personal upvotes/downvotes to one where one's status is defined by enchanted gloves, from a kickass blockade-running spaceship pilot to an artist who can twist the world with his perspective. There is a wide variety of styles and types of stories here, and something for everyone. The stories included are:
